History of the «Golden Key»

The Theater for Young Spectators «Golden Key» is the oldest puppet theater in Ukraine, founded in October 1927 at the Kiev Theater for Children named after I. Franko. That year, the very first theatrical season was opened with the performances Old Parsley and Music, and among the actors who laid the foundation for its best traditions were such famous artists as F. Andrievskaya, M. Kozlovsky, A. Mikhailov, I. Zheleznyak, A. Vishnevskaya, T. Vasnetsova, G. Soroka, J. Zhovinsky.

The theater survived the military occupation and already in 1946 began a new season, returning the beloved troupe to the Kiev audience. To this day, the «Golden Key» is proud of its long history, awards from the Ministry of Culture and prizes at theatrical competitions. He remains faithful to long-term traditions, while at the same time not abandoning modern approaches to his young viewers, the main of which can be considered the visiting nature of his activities.

Repertoire «Golden Key»

The theater troupe appreciates its mobility, which gives it the opportunity for an individual approach to each young theatergoer. Among the possibilities offered is the organization of an individual holiday in honor of a birthday, New Year, Christmas or other occasions in kindergartens, schools, specialized institutions, etc.
